Citroen partners with India's BluSmart Mobility to deploy 4,000 EV SUVs
French automaker Citroen has partnered with Indian electric vehicle (EV) company BluSmart Mobility to bolster the latter's electric fleet in India. The collaboration was solidified through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) ensuring the delivery of 4,000 units of Citroen's all-electric compact SUV, the e-C3, within a span of 12 months.
In the initial phase, 125 units of the Citroen e-C3 were inaugurated at BluSmart's EV charging superhub in Bengaluru. This move is aimed at expanding BluSmart's existing fleet of over 7,000 EVs. The partnership underscores both companies' commitment to fostering a sustainable future in the domain of electric mobility.
According to Shishir Mishra, Brand Director at Citroen India, the collaboration signifies a shared vision for a cleaner transportation ecosystem. The Citroen e-C3 boasts an impressive range of 320 kilometers and incorporates fast-charging technology capable of achieving a full charge in under an hour.
Anmol Jaggi, Co-founder and CEO of BluSmart, highlighted the alignment of visions between the two companies in striving for net-zero mobility. BluSmart, known for its extensive EV charging infrastructure, operates 4,400 EV chargers across 36 superhubs spanning over 1.5 million square feet in Delhi NCR and Bengaluru.
The partnership between Citroen and BluSmart underscores the growing emphasis on electric mobility solutions in India, signaling a shift towards cleaner and greener transportation alternatives. With the combined efforts of both companies, there's a concerted push towards decarbonizing mobility on a larger scale, further contributing to India's transition towards sustainable transportation.
